Prayer Request UPDATED: Daniel Giffin

Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers for Daniel Giffin and his family!

Here is a report from his mom, Torie:
  • We want to thank everyone for their prayers and support!
  • He is on treatment day 16 of 33 today.
  • He has cold right now.
  • Please pray for safe travel.
  • His tumor bed has changed so he had a CAT scan this morning and we’re waiting on the results. (The tumor bed is the tissue that surrounds a tumor site, following the surgical removal of the tumor.)
  • We have Daniel’s Walk, Run & Roll coming up on March 30th and would really appreciate people signing up to participate or volunteer. Volunteers will get free Chick-fil-A breakfast and the cows will be there.

Here are some specific ways we can help:

  • Walk/Run/Roll – March 30: is a fundraising bike ride/walk/run for the whole family!  It will help defray some of the cost associated with Daniel’s treatment, recovery, and ongoing care.  Registration is open and can be accessed via the button below.
  • MEALSA big thank you to everyone bringing meals so far! There is still one day open on the schedule for March 25th.  They have been greatly appreciated and such a comfort during his treatment. You can view the information via the button below if you would like to sign up.
  • PRAYER – For on-going information use the Caring Bridge button.
  • GIFT CARDS – Especially for gas as they will be driving approx 120 miles each day for quite awhile.  As always grocery  and restaurant gift cards are helpful too.  These will continue to be collected for them at the front desk to help them while they are commuting to Denver for treatments.
  • GOFUNDME – To help them financially, use the GoFundMe button below.

Prayer Request UPDATED: Schafer Reichart

!!!SCHAFER WENT HOME FRIDAY, MARCH 8!!!

We are VERY happy to report that Schafer was able to go home last Friday!  According to his Schafer Update Facebook page, he is doing well and the family is getting back to normal.  Here is Beth, his mom’s words from that day:

We are excited to get back as a family and spend some time together again at home.

Schafer is wiped out from surgery and in a good bit of pain probably for a few more days. He’s going to get stronger but will take some time. We start up with therapy and follow up appointments on Tuesday.

** If you would like to visit Schafer please let him rest at home for about a week. Text us or him at that time and we will love to see you at a time that works for Schafer.  Thank you for your support and sensitivity in this way.

We appreciate all the love and encouragement from our family and friends and community. You have helped Schaf be so strong.  We may not post daily from here on but will definitely track some highlights of his continued recovery!

Please continue to pray for him as it is still going to be a long road to full recovery.

Below is an interview with Schafer done by a Denver news station as he was preparing to leave the hospital.

Prayer Request NEW: Student/Staff Illness

Please pray for health for many of our staff and students (over 25% of the elementary students were out yesterday) who are quite sick with the flu and other illnesses.

Tuesday Morning Prayer Meeting - Every Tuesday

7:45 – 8:15 in the Chapel

“There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality that did not begin in united prayer.” …..—A. T. Pierson

Prayer is the most essential work of our ministry and fruitfulness to God. Come join us as we praise God for His excellence and ask for His mighty hand to lead this school and change hearts for all of eternity. Without prayer, our work is arrogant and will only bear bad fruit (John 15:5).  Let us humbly and diligently seek and come together in one accord and do the greatest thing we can do––pray.

High School Lunch Prayer Meeting - Every Wednesday

12:40-1:20 The Loft

FOCUS Our year theme of ‘Only We Can:____’ places our focus on all that is opened up in the love of Jesus. Jesus did not come to save us with a new law but to save us by His sacrifice. We are saved to know, worship, and enjoy God–more than we can even imagine (1 Cor 2:9). Our focus for this retreat is ‘REJOICING’ in relation to worship, suffering and all of our Christian life. Joy is an amazing gift that we can possess in Christ in times of peace and in trials–may we not neglect this essential and amazing gift from Jesus.

Letter from Julie Drago

Elementary Families,

As you are aware, we have had a significant amount of students who have been absent due to various illnesses. As the number of ill students increased, we felt it was in the best interests of all the students to have everyone at home for the remainder of this week. The school staff sanitized their rooms after school yesterday as well as wiped down all common areas with a disinfectant cleaning solution. While these measures are proactive, the best prevention is to partner with you to keep your child home if they are symptomatic.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation with us as we partner together.

Julie Drago

Box Tops Fundraiser

Please keep sending in any box tops you have.  Each elementary classroom and the front desk in Butler has a collection box to place box tops in. Thank you so much!
