Thank you so much for your ongoing prayers for Daniel Giffin and his family!
Here is a Facebook update written by his mother, Torie:
Continued prayers for our brave 11-year-old Daniel. We heard from Daniel’s doctors yesterday and he is going to have to go in for a 3rd brain surgery in less than 5 months sometime early next week – waiting on exact date and time. He’s so strong in his faith and God’s plans for him. Such a trooper. He went to school today, trying to finish strong.
If you would like to send him a card of encouragement he likes mail! Send to: 2 El Paso Blvd., Colorado Springs CO 80904
Watch for Daniel’s story in Sunday’s Gazette.
Please continue to pray for them for the following:
Complete healing for Daniel and in particular, his upcoming surgery.
Decisions that must be made regarding his treatment.
Encouragement and peace for the whole family as they are facing this and other hard issues in their family.
Resolution for some health insurance issues that have come up.
Below are some other specific ways we can continue help:
GIFT CARDS – These will continue to be collected for them at the front desk.
GOFUNDME – Financial help for medical and related expenses.
Thank you for your prayers for Schafer as he continues to recover from his illness!
7:45 – 8:15 in the Chapel
“There has never been a spiritual awakening in any country or locality that did not begin in united prayer.”—A. T. Pierson
Prayer is the most essential work of our ministry and fruitfulness to God. Come join us as we praise God for His excellence and ask for His mighty hand to lead this school and change hearts for all of eternity. Without prayer, our work is arrogant and will only bear bad fruit (John 15:5). Let us humbly and diligently seek and come together in one accord and do the greatest thing we can do––pray.

You may have noticed on the calendar that next year’s school year will start with the Genesis Retreat at Camp Elim from Aug. 13-15th as the first “official” school days. While we have many details to finalize, but we wanted to put it on everyone’s radar that we are currently planning on using the first days of school with this fantastic time of worship, fun, prayer.
After the retreat, Friday, Aug. 16th and Monday, Aug. 19th will be at-home school days for which students will be given “warm-up” work or pre-tests in preparation for the first “normal” school day on Tuesday, August 20th.
All specific details regarding this retreat will be communicated later in the summer.
A big thank you to everyone who collected bottle caps throughout the year! They used 996 caps to complete it. The 5th grade unveiled their legacy project recently and it was a hit!
The Third Grade presented their Wax Museum last week. We featured Laura Ingalls Wilder, two Helen Keller, George Washington, 3 Sacagawea, Abraham Lincoln, Clara Barton, Henry Ford, Amelia Earhart, and William Clark. (Behind the students are 1,000 paper origami cranes for our reading novel, Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes).
