Jeff Cooper

Head Administrator

Jeff received a computer science degree from Carson-Newman College and later received his Masters of Divinity from Golden Gate Theological Seminary. Jeff served as the youth pastor at Pacific Church of Irvine for eight years. Jeff taught higher level mathematics and functioned as the Director of Student Life and Ministries in Southern California. Jeff and his wife Lessie helped start USCO in 2006 and has been in charge of the school since 2007.

Jen Sutherland

High School Principal

After receiving her B.A. from University of California, Davis, Jen earned her teaching credential, Masters in Education and administrative credential from San Diego State University. Jen has worked in the public and private school setting, teaching both elementary and high school students. She has experience in mentoring and coaching teachers in instructional practices while participating in an administrative internship program. This is Jen’s third year at USCO and her seventh year working at a University Model school. With her husband Dennis, and their two children, she enjoys recreating in the great outdoors of Colorado. Her favorite pastimes include reading, cooking, coffee dates, and traveling.

Julie Drago

Elementary Principal

Julie has experience as an elementary educator in both public and private schools. In addition, Julie has been a Teacher of the deaf for seven years in both Minneapolis and Colorado Springs. Her administration career started as a middle school assistant principal, then she moved to the oversight of K-12 instructional programing and delivering professional development for Harrison School District. Julie enjoys reading, hiking with her family and their pyrenes dog, Cooper (who is the size of a small Shetland pony). She also enjoys spending time with her family and checking out funky fun food establishments along the front range.

Jake Busby

Junior High Principal

Jake received a bachelor degree in biblical language from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He started working at the University School in 2013 as a teacher and has been involved in student ministry. Jake has a heart for engaging students at the heart level, and applying theological principles to daily life.
